Founder’s Notes

During her thirty year teaching career Gwenda Sanderson has been committed to finding ways to help students become confident lifelong readers, who are able to read for academic achievement, as well as pleasure. Gwenda has shared her work with teachers and parents locally, nationally and internationally in workshops, conferences, presentations and various writings. Her particular area of expertise is teaching literacy and English to upper primary and lower secondary students. Gwenda has a special interest in the needs of boys, motivating reluctant readers, and in teaching the craft and skills of narrative and assignment writing. read more about Gwenda

ARRENDELL Education is the leading after school tuition centre for the Newcastle and Hunter region since 1977. Our tutors are well known for their high regard for a successful academic education.
For nearly 40 years our highly experienced team have inspired, tutored and mentored thousands of primary and secondary school students, paving their way for future success.
ARRENDELL Education provides extension courses for high achieving students who are keen to further develop their skills in English and Mathematics, as well as tuition for students who are experiencing difficulty or lacking confidence.

The tuition centre also specialises in preparing students for selective school entry exams, scholarships and opportunity exams.
Of special note, ARRENDELL Education has one of the largest private collections of children’s library books for student access. A key theme and reason for student success over the years is the focus on reading skills and the inspiration that arises from reading and the familiarisation with a wide spectrum of children’s authors.
