YEAR 12 - DISCOVERY DAY - Full day workshop

This workshop will enable students to understand the HSC English concept of 'Discovery'. After a review of the current syllabus requirements students will be shown how to approach Short Answer Questions, and how to write about Discovery both creatively and critically.

The full day program will cover 3 key sessions (approximately 1.5 hours per session):
- Session #1 - 9 to 10:30am: What is Discovery? How do I approach Short Answer Questions.

- Session #2 - 11 to 12:30pm: Discovery Creative Writing

- Session #3 - 1:30 to 3:00pm: Discovery Essay Writing

Why should I attend?
Whether you have already covered the Area of Study at school, or are going to cover it next year, this program will be beneficial for ALL HSC ENGLISH STANDARD AND ADVANCED STUDENTS. The Area of Study is common across both English courses, but due to time constraints at school this topic is not always covered in as much detail as students need. This program will help students clearly understand the HSC English Area of Study: Discovery. It will enable students to comprehend the concept of Discovery and apply it their set texts and supplementary texts.

All students who attend will be given a resource pack including sample questions and responses for the Short Answer, Creative and Essay components of the HSC exam.
